David L Bortniker, MD

David Bortniker, MD, is an otolaryngologist at Ear, Nose & Throat Care, PC in Somerville and Warren, New Jersey. He has over 35 years of experience providing personalized, compassionate ear, nose, and throat care for children and adults.

Dr. Bortniker graduated with high honors from Rutgers University before earning his medical degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He then completed his surgical internship and residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he was chief resident. Afterward, he received advanced fellowship training in head and neck cancer surgery at Beth Israel/Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.

Dr. Bortniker has years of experience in the medical and surgical management of head and neck tumors, thyroid and parathyroid disease, as well as general adult and pediatric ear, nose and throat disorders, and endoscopic sinus surgery. He held faculty appointments at New Jersey Medical School and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He has been actively involved in the ENT Residency Program at New Jersey Medical School, teaching new physicians in training. He has served as Chief of Otolaryngology at Somerset Medical Center and as Acting Chief of the ENT Service at the East Orange VA Medical Center, a major teaching hospital of New Jersey Medical School’s residency training program. As a fellowship-trained head and neck surgeon, Dr. Bortniker has been involved in teaching medical students and residents for over 35 years and continues to do so.

At Ear, Nose & Throat Care, PC, Dr. Bortniker has been an innovator in introducing in-office procedures to treat nasal obstruction, sinusitis, postnasal drip, rhinitis without requiring general anesthesia. He was the first in the community to utilize newer techniques to perform safer and less painful tonsil surgery and nasal surgery.

He has received multiple awards and recognition from his peers. Dr. Bortniker has been recognized as a Top Doctor by New York Magazine, New Jersey Monthly, New Jersey Life, and Castle Connolly’s Best Doctors in New York and New Jersey. The excellent care he provides to patients has also earned him recognition from Somerset Medical Center and New Jersey Medical School.

Howard Druce, MD, FACP

Howard Druce, MD, is an experienced allergist who has extensive experience in both patient care and developing new medications for allergy, asthma, and immunology. He proudly serves patients at Ear, Nose & Throat Care, PC in Somerville and Warren, New Jersey.

Dr. Druce received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts with first-class honors in physiology from the University of Oxford in England. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University College London (UCL) Medical School, graduating with honors in clinical pharmacology and therapeutics. He then completed his postdoctoral in medicine at University College London and in ENT and gynecology at the University of Manchester.

Afterward, he relocated to the United States for his residency in internal medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens in New York City. Dr. Druce was a Fogarty Fellow and Visiting Associate of the Laboratory of Clinical Investigation for the National Institutes of Health and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in Bethesda, Maryland. While there, he focused on allergy and clinical immunology in the laboratory of Michael Kaliner, MD.

Dr. Druce is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, as well as the American College of Physicians. He is also a member of the New Jersey Allergy Asthma & Immunology society. Currently, Dr. Druce is a clinical professor of medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey.
